Prof. David Aldridge

Prof. David Aldridge holds the position of Dawson Professor and serves as the Director of Studies in Biological Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. With a passion for sustainable solutions, he collaborates with the water industry, government agencies, and NGOs to pioneer innovative remediation and monitoring programmes. Throughout his career, Prof. Aldridge has effectively managed grants exceeding £3.5 million, dedicated to advancing environmental management and sustainability initiatives. His leadership extends to chairing the University’s Impact Accelerator Panel, where he fosters the translation of impactful research into tangible societal benefits. He was awarded the Entec Medal for his innovation of new technologies for sustainable water management. He also received the World Bank’s Development Award for his outstanding sustainability work in China.

Prof. Andy Sederman

Prof. Andy Sederman is Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering at Cambridge University. Current projects led by Prof. Sederman and funded by Shell, are investigating novel ways of optimising production routes of SAFs. At the Magnetic Resonance Research Centre, his research interests center on advancing magnetic resonance methods tailored to process and reaction engineering. Specifically, he delves into unraveling the intricacies of multi-component reactions, diffusion phenomena, and flow processes. Prof. Sederman is particularly committed to the advancement and utilisation of ultra-fast magnetic resonance (MR) techniques, applying them to address challenges in process engineering with remarkable efficacy.

Prof. Cui Zhanfeng

Prof. Cui has held the position of the Donald Pollock Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Oxford since the Chair was established in 2000. As the Founding Director of the Oxford Centre for Tissue Engineering and Bioprocessing, he spearheads pioneering research that transcends the boundaries of traditional disciplines, pushing the frontiers of science and technology. Acknowledged for his outstanding contributions, Prof. Cui has been honored as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. His extensive experience is underscored by a track record of successful UK-China academic and commercial collaboration projects, highlighting his dedication to fostering international partnerships and driving impactful outcomes.

Prof. John Irvine FRSE, FRSC, is currently Professor in Chemistry at St Andrews University. He stands as a trailblazer in the realm of energy materials, pioneering advancements in energy conversion technologies that have garnered global recognition. His research spans from foundational inquiries to strategic applications, resonating profoundly across academia, industry, and government sectors. What distinguishes Prof. Irvine's work is its interdisciplinary nature, integrating insights from Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Bioenergy, Geoscience, Engineering, Economics, and Policy. This holistic approach enables him to tackle multifaceted energy challenges with unparalleled depth and breadth. The exceptional quality and impact of Prof. Irvine's research have been acknowledged through numerous national and international awards. Through his groundbreaking contributions, Prof. Irvine continues to shape the landscape of energy science, driving progress towards a sustainable future.

Raymond Tung

With over two decades of experience in the financial industry, Raymond has been a fund manager since joining a prominent investment fund service firm in 1994. Serving as Chief Representative for the Royal & Ancient Golf Club and Scottish Elmwood College's Golf project supported by Scottish Development International in China (2008-2017), he played a pivotal role in fostering development of golf and instilling the sport’s ethos with its rules and etiquette, leading it to become China's most influential brand in the golf industry. As CEO of Union Power since 2018, Raymond has led UP's involvement in a watershed management project with a total investment of 500 million GBP, and a sewage treatment plant project totaling 639 million GBP, offering innovative technical solutions. In late 2023, Raymond collaborated with professors from Cambridge, Oxford, and St. Andrews University to launch the UK-China SAF project, underscoring his dedication to environmental and investment initiatives.
